Setting Up VMcast on Amazon Fire TV Stick

We recommend the Fire TV’s VMcast app as the best way to stream your VMcast playlists. The app gives you a low-bandwidth streaming option and automatically displays your playlist changes. This guide will help you install, set up, and use the Amazon Fire TV Stick's VMcast app.

1) Set up your Amazon Fire TV Stick

Follow the steps given to you by Amazon to connect your Amazon Fire TV Stick to your TV and wireless internet connection. For additional information and support for the hardware, please view their help section regarding setup.

2) Search for the VMcast App

From the ‘Home’ screen, navigate to ‘Search’ in the menu on the left using your remote's navigation buttons and hit the ‘Select’ button on your remote.

From the search page, use your remote to input ‘vmcast’ in the search box.

Important: You will need to type the whole word. Predictive search will not automatically pull our app’s name.

Once typed in, hit down on the navigation button on your remote to highlight ‘VMcast’. Hit the remote’s ’Select’ button to choose the app.

3) Install the App

Hit the remote’s ’Select’ button again to open the VMcast app overview page.

Select ‘Download’ and wait for the app to download and install. This may take a few minutes depending on your wireless network speed.

4) Setup the App

Before you begin, be sure you have the following to ensure a smooth setup.

Client ID

Access Code

These were emailed to you when you signed up for VMcast. If you do not have this information, you can login to your ViewMedica.com account and go to "VMcast Service Settings" from the Dashboard to get this information.

After you have installed the app, Select ‘Open’ to launch the app. Follow the prompts on the screen to complete your setup.

Enter your Client ID number and select ‘Next’.

Enter your Access Code. On the fourth digit, the app automatically loads your account information and goes to the VMcast app start screen. From here you can press up to go to the “Setting & More” menu to enable features like Live Weather. Or, you can run one of your available playlists (see the next step).

5) Run a Playlist

On the VMcast start screen, you can select the default “All Videos” playlist or one of the playlists you created in your ViewMedica.com account. You can also press up to access the settings panel.

How to Make a Playlist

Press left and right on the remote pad to choose the playlist you want to stream. Then hit the remote’s ‘Select’ button. You will now see a list of options for this playlist. You can toggle the desired features by scrolling up/down and pressing the ‘Select’ button.

Ready to start your playlist? Highlight the ‘Play’ option and then press the remote’s ‘Select’ button. Your custom ad-free waiting room broadcast should now play and loop throughout the day!

During playback, press the ‘Select’ or ‘Play/Pause’ button to pause and play your loop. You can also press the ‘Back’ button to return to the menu interface. The ‘Left/Right’ buttons will jump backward or forward to videos in your playlist. We recommend stopping the playlist at night by hitting the ‘Back’ button and starting it again in the morning.
