Medical Illustrator Dixon Joins ViewMedica Team

Swarm Interactive is pleased to announce the addition of Scott Dixon to the ViewMedica animation team. Scott is a Certified Medical Illustrator, and was formerly a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

He is originally from East Tennessee and has lived in Chicago the past 8 years. He is now relocating to Swarm’s home base of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his family.

Professional Background

While an instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Scott led courses in the Biomedical Visualization program, the largest accredited Medical Illustrator graduate program in North America. Scott has instructed students in Computer Applications, Computer Visualization, Animation, and Digital Sculpting, and has received several student-elected teaching awards. He is also a professional member of the Association of Medical Illustrators and has presented conference workshops and technique sessions for other members.

Clients

As a freelance medical illustrator, Scott has produced content for clients such as Allergan, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Edward Heart Hospital, MIT, Northwestern University, St. Jude Neuro and Valeant Pharmaceutical.

Education

Scott received his MS in Biomedical Illustration from UIC in 2006. He received his BS in Digital Media from East Tennessee State University in 2003. Scott also holds an AAS degree in CAD.
